Are you looking for the San Francisco feeling, without the cost of traveling? Well look no further. Experience the joy of traveling throughout the beautiful Queen City on the CityLynx Gold Line.
You can now enjoy traveling on Charlotte’s very own emerald green and gold trolley car that resembles the San Francisco Cable Car System. The best part the ride is absolutely free. Running from the Time Warner Cable Arena to NovantHealth Presbyterian Medical Center, the car stops at 6 stations along the route as followed:
- CTC Arena
- Davidson Street
- McDowell Street
- CPCC Central Piedmont Community College
- Elizabeth Avenue and Hawthorne Street
- Hawthorne Street and 5th Avenue
Operating seven days a week, CityLynx Gold Line runs every 15 minutes during peak hours and every 20 minutes during off peak hours. The hours of operation are:
- Monday to Thursday: 6:00am to 11:00pm
- Friday: 6:00am to 12:00am
- Saturday: 8:00am to 12:00am
- Sunday: 9:00am to 7:00pm
Plans are still underway to expand the CityLYNX Gold Line, connecting the University Park area to Eastland Community Transit Center via Uptown. It is projected to be complete by 2023 following construction along Beatties Ford Road, Trade Street and Central Avenue, through central Charlotte.
