Who Needs an Electrical Inspection?
You go to the doctor regularly to make sure your body is in good health, and you bring your car to the shop to make sure it’s also in good health. Have you ever thought about scheduling a check-up for your home’s electrical system?
From flickering lights and tripping breakers to frayed wires and overheating outlets, there are a lot of things that could go wrong with your home’s electrical. And worn out or poorly done wiring could even pose shock risks or fire hazards! It’s a good idea for EVERY homeowner to schedule an occasional electrical inspection to check in on their home’s health. You never know what’s going on behind your walls!
What’s Included
You don’t need to wait for flickering lights or tripping breakers to know something’s wrong. During your electrical safety inspection, your electrician has the skills to detect early warning signs the average person isn’t gonna notice. This saves you the hassle of bigger repairs down the line, or even fire hazards!
Mr. Jenkins told me to do things the right way, not the easy way. And that applies to our electrical department, too! When you call us out for an electrical safety inspection, we’re thorough. Your Morris-Jenkins electrician will carefully inspect a LOT in your home, so nothing goes unchecked. We’ll:
- Inspect your main electrical panel for signs of damage, loose connections, or burn marks.
- Verify proper grounding and bonding to prevent electrical shock.
- Check outdoor outlets to make sure they’re properly sealed, secured, and safe.
- Conduct thermal checks of any and all panels.
- Inspect receptacles and switches (we’ll check the function, voltage, grounding, and more).
- Test whole home surge protector if you have one (if you don’t, your electrician can talk to you about them! They’re the BEST way to protect ALL your devices and appliances from power surges).
- Examine visible wiring in your attic, basement, and/or crawl space.
If you went to a mechanic for a car inspection and they told you the engine was broken and simply sent you on your way, you’d be rightfully upset! That’s why we won’t just inspect your home, but if there’s anything of concern, we’re gonna explain it in a way that actually makes sense (we don’t believe in talking over your head). We’ll also work with you on any solutions to make sure your family, your home, and your belongings stay protected for the long haul! And often, these solutions might be more simple than you think, like tightening a connection or replacing a GFCI. Even catching these little things early can make a big difference in preventing bigger problems in the future.
