Sometimes, it can be hard to tune out all the negativity in the world and spot the good. Though when you look for it, there’s plenty of it! If you’re looking for something to brighten your day, check out these five stories of things Morris-Jenkins employees have done to make the world a better place.
1. Locked Out of the House
Most of us have been there before. You step outside for just a second and… click. The door locks behind you. Locking yourself out is embarrassing and panic-inducing (unless you happen to have a spare key outside). Luckily for this person, one of our techs was nearby!
According to the review, someone was going out in their backyard when the door closed behind her and trapped her in her yard. She was stacking up some chairs to help her over the fence when she spotted a Morris-Jenkins truck nearby. She called out for help and our tech came running over.
With his help, she was able to safely get back inside her house!
2. Get Well Soon
When one of our customers was in the hospital recovering from major surgery, her grown son had us out to fix her backed-up toilets. When our plumbers looked into the problem, they realized the clogs were a symptom of a bigger issue—she was gonna need new sewers.
While chatting with the customer’s son, one of our employees, Justin, realized some of the decorations around the house were Dutch. Turns out, him and the customer are both Dutch! Justin and the son chatted and bonded, and Justin really wanted to help him get the plumbing problem fixed before his mom came home to recover from open-heart surgery.
Unfortunately, the son was not the owner of the house, and we weren’t allowed to do any work to the home without his mom’s permission. Justin went with the customer’s son to get the paperwork signed in the hospital so we could get her toilets flushing again before her return home. On the way to the hospital, Justin made a stop at the store. He picked up tulips (a meaningful flower to the Dutch) and a card (which he signed, “From your friends at Morris-Jenkins”) for the customer.
Justin got the paperwork signed, but then they ran into another roadblock—it would take a few days for the customer’s money to transfer to an account she could pay with. Not wanting to risk any delays on this project, Justin pulled some strings and we got the sewers replaced in time for the customer to come home to a plumbing system that worked like new!
This is one of our favorite stories because it really shows how our employees will go above and beyond to make sure people are taken care of. It’s what we’re all about!
3. Making Sure You Get Home Safe
Even though we’d like to think everyone out there means well, there are some people that don’t. Luckily, one of our techs was in the right place at the right time! One day, a woman was on a walk through a neighborhood when our tech noticed a car acting suspiciously and following the woman along on her walk. Our tech stopped to check on the woman and make sure she was safe, and she was so grateful he did!
4. There When No One Else Was
Not every company out there has your best interests in mind. Too many of them are just looking to make a quick buck instead of putting in the work to really fix problems around your home. That’s the exact situation Eve found herself in. After five years of dealing with other companies, she decided enough was enough! She called Morris-Jenkins. Right away, she experienced the difference!
Our customer service representative totally understood her frustration and made her feel much better from the start. We sent a plumber out to Eve’s home that very same day to finally put an end to her plumbing problems. In a matter of just a few days, we turned her plumbing from a nightmare to a dream!
5. Making Birthday Wishes Come True
When a local mom reached out to us for help during the crazy summer heat, we jumped into action! Not only was her AC broken and her home uncomfy, but the customer was pregnant and really needed the cool air FAST. On top of that, her son’s birthday party was scheduled for the same day her air went out!
Her bad luck ended there though, and we came out right away to get things fixed. Our tech made sure her air conditioning was blowing cold in time for the birthday party, and that momma got to rest easy!

It’s easy to focus on all the negativity in the world, but if you look around, you’ll see there’s something good to be found anywhere! There are good people out there who care about others and want to help people (or just bring a smile to someone’s face).
