There are a few different kinds of clogs. You might be used to getting a clog now and then in your toilet when someone uses too much toilet paper. Or you might‘ve had to get a clump of hair out of your shower drain before you could drain the bathtub. When a small clog happens near your fixtures, it’s not too big of a deal. Often, you can clear the clog yourself. But as soon as you get a clog in your mainline, that’s when you’ll start to have problems in lots of different places at once.
If you start to think you may have a mainline clog, you should call as soon as you can. We might be able to unclog your drains before you get backups or other major issues. Here are some things to look out for:
Some people feel embarrassed when they get a clog and will try unclogging their drains by themselves. But most drain products can lead to even worse problems down the road. Liquid drain cleaners are a good example. They corrode pipes and aren’t very helpful against big mainline clogs. Instead, the liquid will sit next to the clog and eat away at the pipes.
If you have clogged drains, the only safe DIY method we recommend is a plunger. Toilet and sink plungers are both great for getting out everyday food, hair, and human waste clogs. Plus, they won’t do anything bad to your pipes or your toilet. If the clog seems to be in one place, try getting it out with a plunger. After that, if you’re still having problems, it’s time to call us! Don’t be shy, we see all kinds of clogs in Fort Mill every day.
When you call us, what can you expect from our drain clearing services? We’ll come and take a look at the problem with our drain cameras and then let you know what we think will fix it. We have two methods you can choose from to solve the problems you have with your drains.
Drain Cabling: You might have heard drain cabling called a “snake”, an “auger”, or a “rooter”. When we’re talking about professional plumbing tools for unclogging drains, all these words mean the same thing. They’re long metal cables with different attachments at the end to get rid of different kinds of clogs. They’re usually best for food, waste, and hair clogs, and sometimes small tree roots.
Hydro Jetting: A hydro jetter uses a spray of high-pressure water to clean the inside of your pipes. It’s great at getting rid of clogs that like to stick around like grease clogs. It can also cut big tree roots out of your pipes! You might also want hydro jetting if you have odor or pest problems and you just wanna get everything cleaned out.
