Septic System Services and Leach Field Services

Live in a home with a septic system and not sure how to take care of it or fix it? Looking to install a septic system or convert from septic to sewage? You’ve come to the right place!

How Do Septic Systems Work?

Your septic system can be simplified to two parts: a septic tank and a leach field.

Your septic tank technically has two areas—one for solids, one for liquids. Whenever you flush the toilet or wash things down the drain, all of that waste goes into the first part of the tank. In there, the solids stay in the first area while the liquids pass through to the second. Over time, bacteria break down the solids on the solid side of the tank. All of the liquids (including the broken-down solids) pass through the liquid side of the tank and out into a leach field.

Your leach field is where all your sewage liquids are leached out into the ground. Every gallon put into your septic tank is gonna eventually equal a gallon out in your leach field. As this liquid sewage exits the pipes, it seeps into the soil in your leach field and gets absorbed and filtered through the ground. That area becomes very fertile. This is why it’s extra important to have experts install your leach field. If it isn’t done properly, that area can become toxic!

Septic System Maintenance

If you’ve never had a septic system before (or even if you have), you might not realize there’s some maintenance that comes along with it.

Is There a Filter in My Septic System I Should Clean?

Septic tanks are required to have what’s called an effluent filter, but just because they’re required doesn’t mean yours has one. We can come out and inspect your septic tank to make sure yours has this filter. If it doesn’t, we’ll give you some options to get one installed.

No one wants to worry about messing with their septic system! That’s why we’re here. While we cannot pump your septic tank (we can recommend a company to help with that, though!), we can locate your septic tank and leach field and treat it—and that means we can also clean your filter.

How Can I Protect My Septic System?

With proper maintenance, you may not have to pump your septic tank for years! All it takes is proper bacteria treatment, and it’s super easy. While you can find some septic maintenance liquids in the stores and online, they usually only have a few beneficial elements in them. We offer HOTROD™ products, which are only available on a professional level. The product we recommend for septic maintenance includes 22 beneficial ingredients to keep your septic system in great shape! Normally, basic septic system treatments you can find in the store are meant to be done monthly. Because the product we offer is a much higher quality, you’ll only need to do it semi-annually!

Septic System Repairs

Have a sneaking suspicion there’s something wrong with your septic system? Here are some telltale signs of septic system problems:

  • Saturated and swampy lawn
  • Pools of water on your property
  • Taller grass than usual
  • Recent rain (waste liquids won’t be able to evaporate if your leach field gets too wet from rain)
  • Plumbing fixtures backing up

Sometimes, accidents happen. Maybe you recently ran over your leach field, dug a hole and hit a pipe, or had some construction done in the area. Or even if no one did anything that could’ve damaged your septic system, things can just break down over time. No matter the cause of your septic issues, our plumbers can get out to your home usually the same day you call to take care of things and get your home back to normal FAST.

Septic System Installation or Conversion

Need a new septic system installed? The first step is scheduling an appointment with the health department. We can schedule that for you when you choose us for your septic system installation.

The health department will do some calculations to figure out the best setup for your septic tank and leach field. They’ll take note of how many beds your home has (it’s a better gauge of how many people live in the home than the number of bathrooms), the slope of your property, the type of soil you have, and more. Once they determine the layout and size of the leach field your home needs, they’ll give us the information and we can get to work!

Our team will get everything installed the right way, without taking shortcuts. When we’re all done, our plumbers will teach you everything you need to know to keep your septic system healthy for years to come.

Trying to convert your home from septic to city sewage? We can help with that, too! There are some legal requirements when it comes to converting away from septic. Because septic tanks hold hazardous waste, we’re required to condemn your old septic tank, bust it up, and fill it with rocks. But don’t worry, we include this in the price of connecting you to city sewage, so you don’t have to worry about it! We’ll take care of everything.
