You’ll know it’s time to call a professional out when things aren’t draining like they used to. That might mean that water drains slower or makes lots of noise going down the pipe. In extreme cases, you’ll have a couple of fixtures clog up at once, which could mean a blockage further down in the sewer line. When your sink clogs up, you might be reaching for the liquid drain clearing chemicals that you keep stashed under the sink. But it’s time to rethink clogs. Most clogs should be taken care of by a plumber. The harsh chemicals that are in those popular products are designed to eat away clogs, but they’re also gonna eat away at your pipes in the process. Pipes can corrode when you pour those chemicals down. The heat caused by these products reacting with water can even melt some piping materials. If the clog can’t be taken care of with a plunger (one of the only safe methods we recommend at home), then your next step should be to call us.

Cabling: You might have heard someone call it a “snake” or an “auger” or a “rooter”. Those are all just names for the same thing. It’s a long cable with an end that can get through clogs. At Morris-Jenkins, we can cable your drains up to 75 feet for $77. Drain cabling is good for many common clogs including the ones that are caused by food, hair, paper products (like toilet paper, paper towels, etc.), or small tree roots.
Hydro Jetting: A hydro jetter can get rid of those clogs that nothing else can reach. If you’ve got a clog from when you accidentally poured grease down the drain, or if a big tree branch is clogging things up, the high-pressure water from the hydro jetter is gonna blast them out of the way. Sometimes it’s the only way to get rid of clogs that come from fat, grease, and oil. Hydro jetting is also great for getting out bacteria or other types of sludge that make drains smell bad.

It’s like being able to jump down into your drains to see exactly what’s going on. We’ll be able to see whether you need drain cabling or hydro-jetting.
