Doesn’t it just make your day when you look in the cabinet under the sink and find everything wet with smelly sink water? We’re guessing probably not. Leaks from your garbage disposal can sometimes be hard to find unless you’re looking under the sink every day. Sometimes they’re just slow drips and only leak when you’re running it. If it’s leaking around the connections, we’ll be able to repair it fast and get it up and running again. But cracks in the disposal itself will mean a replacement.

Garbage disposals are great, but they can’t do everything. If you wanna keep the plumber away (and we know you do– we don’t take it personally), remember a few basic things. After dinner, make sure to scrape the biggest pieces of food into the trash or compost. You may be tempted to dump that whole container of leftovers into the sink and let the disposal go to town, but that’s not gonna end well. It’s also not gonna be a happy ending if you try to get rid of vegetable peelings, stringy vegetables, grease, oil, shrimp shells, or non-food items in the disposal.
