Morris-Jenkins plumbers are trained to tackle even the biggest toilet repairs as quickly as possible. The last thing we want is for unsanitary toilet water to spread into cracks and crevices of your home! If you’re unsure whether your toilet issue warrants toilet repairs from a trained plumber, here are some of the most common fixes we do.
A clogged toilet isn’t something to be ignored. Not only does it threaten your Kannapolis home’s cleanliness, but it can also be a sign of a more significant issue. Sometimes clogs are caused by flushing objects and materials not meant for the toilet, like diapers and feminine hygiene products. But regular clogging could signify a sewer line problem or other necessary toilet repairs.
It’s easy for cracks in your toilet tank or toilet bowl to go unnoticed for some time. That’s why as soon as you do see one, you should give us a call, and we’ll come check it out.
While we may not need to replace the toilet completely, you’ll want reassurance there isn’t a more significant issue down the pipeline. Too many flushes and cracks can turn into a flooded bathroom and more expensive toilet repairs or replacements. Avoid that stress and have a plumber from Morris-Jenkins determine how substantial the cracks are.
It may feel like sometimes your toilet taunts you with the sound of running water just to see if you’re paying attention. The occasional need to jiggle the handle or give it a second flush shouldn’t be too concerning, but a toilet that constantly runs or dribbles water into the bowl tells you something bigger is going on. And while there may be a few quick tricks you can try to resolve the problem, if you’re unsure or out of options, we’re here every day til midnight, so just give us a call!
Sometimes toilet repairs are quick and simple, and there’s no need to call in the reinforcements. Below are two common toilet problems you may wanna try fixing yourself before contacting Morris-Jenkins.
The flapper is the rubber stopper at the bottom of your toilet tank that opens and closes when you press down on the toilet’s handle to flush it. Over time, this rubber can wear down and ultimately not seal properly, mainly if you use bleach tablets in your toilet tank.
The fastest way to check if your flapper is due for a replacement is to add a few drops of food coloring into your toilet tank’s water. After it’s had a moment to disperse, give the toilet a good flush and see if the colored water appears in the toilet bowl.
If it does, you’ve got a flapper problem or possibly another valve or seal that isn’t working correctly. If you’d rather have one of our plumbers do the job for you, they’ll be there ASAP!
A running toilet could be caused by any number of problems, meaning any number of toilet repairs could fix it. One easy check you can do before bringing in the professionals is to test the float arm—that’s the part in your toilet tank that looks like a stick and ball. Immediately after flushing the toilet, hold the float arm up. If the tank continues to fill up or starts making strange sounds, you’ve got an issue for a plumber to fix. If when you hold up the float arm, the tank stops filling, you’ve probably got a leak somewhere to deal with, and we’d be happy to help!
