Have you ever had a sip of water from the tap and wondered what’s in it? Your water isn’t gonna just be pure H2O. All tap water is gonna have small amounts of minerals and additives. Some of these things are there naturally, while others can be added by the water supply company to make it safer to drink. Your water probably isn’t gonna make you sick, but it may not be perfect either. Your family deserves the best water possible. That’s why we offer water quality testing in Matthews!
We keep our trucks fully stocked, so we can test your water quality then and there—no need to schedule another appointment.
You’ll always know the price of your water quality test before any work begins.
We’re here ’til midnight and available on weekends, too.
A lot of people think if they don’t have any health problems, their water doesn’t need to be tested. That’s understandable because many of the things we test for aren’t gonna make you or your family sick. But we’re plumbers, so we’re also gonna think a lot about the health of your pipes. We don’t want your plumbing to have a shorter lifespan because of bad water.
You should think about getting your water tested if you have dry hair or dry skin, or if you’re getting stains on your clothes after washing them. You can also call if you notice your water tasting sour, you see mineral stains on your faucets and fixtures, or your water pressure is too low.
Have you ever soaked in a hot tub only to have your skin be dry and angry with you for a couple of days? Your skin might be reacting to lots of chlorine. The same thing can happen with the water from your taps. Low levels of chlorine are okay. It’s what’s gonna keep germs and parasites from having a little party in your pipes (and your drinking water!). But a lot is harmful, even if you’re using a filter for your drinking water. It can soak in through your skin in the shower, and you can breathe it in when there’s steam in the air. We’ll test for unhealthy levels of chlorine.
We’ll also take a look at the pH levels in your water. You want it to be balanced. If the pH is low, your water will be too acidic. It’s gonna taste bad and your pipes will corrode faster. If it’s too high, you’ll probably start to notice more build-up in your pipes and your water pressure may be weak.
We can also see what minerals are hanging out in your water. Iron, calcium, and magnesium are common in Matthews water. These aren’t gonna hurt you, but they can be annoying. They’ll cause stains on your fixtures and clothes and can make your hair and skin dry.
We want water quality testing to give you good information, but we don’t want the results to worry you. There’s a lot that can be done after you find out what’s in your water. Pumps and tanks designed to lower or raise acidity levels can be installed in your home if the pH of your water is off. Water softeners can help with water that has too many minerals. And a filter can be added to get rid of chlorine before it makes it to your shower or sink.
We can also check to make sure your pipes are all in good condition. If acidic water has eaten away at your pipes and fixtures, we’ll know what repairs or installations to recommend. We also have services for pipes that have build-up from hard water or high pH levels.
We’ll always be very clear and reassuring when letting you know what steps you should take. We’re always happy to answer questions you have, and we’re not gonna make it complicated by using plumbing lingo.
When you schedule us out for any plumbing diagnostic or repair, we’ll do a basic water test for FREE! This test looks at your chlorine levels and a couple other basic things. If you want something more accurate and in-depth, we’ve got other options, too! There are about ten different parameters that most commonly impact your water quality. And our photometer testing can check all of that in depth! We’ll take a sample of your water and test it with our in-office lab equipment. Then, we can follow up with you the next day to explain the results and answer any questions about things you can do to improve your water quality. But wait– it gets even better! Our Priority Advantage Members get this service (normally $149) for FREE! And when you’re a member, we’ll take our lab equipment to you, that way you get your results the very same day.
The photometer water quality test is perfect for just about any home, but if you have major concerns about the safety of your water, we do offer an option that tests for 87 different parameters. Just call, text, or message us online to figure out which test is right for you!
