So, do you really need to replace your whole AC? Or can you get away with having a quick repair? Some companies aren’t gonna give you a straight answer. They’re gonna be more concerned with making a buck off of you than taking care of you and your air conditioner. At Morris-Jenkins, we want more than anything for you to have a reliable AC that lasts for years. And we don’t think you should have to be a mind reader to figure out what your AC needs to get there. We’ll let you know with plain words what we think.
If we see that your air conditioner is more than 10 years old and it keeps breaking down on you, we’ll recommend a new AC installation. Replacements can also be better if you’re spending a lot of money on cooling. Newer ACs can take a big chunk off your energy bill just by working better. And when something major breaks like your evaporator coil, we might suggest that you opt for an installation instead. Some repairs can be expensive and aren’t worth the money just to get another year or two out of your old system.
When it comes to air conditioners, it doesn’t matter how fancy of a system you choose. If you don’t have someone come and install it right, it’s not gonna work for you. You can pour a bunch of money into a poorly installed system, only to have it replaced five years later. Lots of AC companies can get away with sloppy installations because they’re the “cheap guys.” But that’s gonna end up costing good people more money down the road.
