Even though Morris-Jenkins is considered an “Essential Business” during the COVID-19 pandemic, our employees still practice social distancing by staying home as much as possible. In fact, most of our office staff has transitioned into working from home! How are your friends at Morris-Jenkins doing at home during the quarantine? We surveyed them, and the results are in!
Toilet Paper Crisis
During the Great Toilet Paper Crisis of 2020, did you find enough toilet paper to last a while? 16 of our employees who did the survey said they almost ran out of toilet paper at least once. On average, our employees have about 20 rolls of toilet paper per family.
Nine percent of employees have less than six rolls of toilet paper in their home! Several of those people report having three, two, or even one roll left! On the other side of the spectrum, 18% of our employees have more than 30 rolls of toilet paper. One person even reported having 95 rolls! The rest of the employees fell somewhere in the middle, with the majority (44%) having between 6-15 rolls.

Passing the Time
When you can’t go to the gym, meet friends at the movies, or even sit down at a restaurant, you have to get creative about ways to pass the time. Some people have done exciting things during the quarantine. One of our employees even got married! Another employee decided to try something new and dye her hair purple.
Of the employees who answered the survey 31% said they’ve been spending most of their time cleaning. Seven percent have been exercising more, and five percent listed “learn to become a teacher” as the biggest thing they’ve done during quarantine. Because schools have went fully digital for the time being, a lot of parents have had to learn how to be teachers for their children to help them. If you’ve had to do the same, know that you’re not alone! A lot of our employees are learning right alongside you.
Have you been seeing or hearing things about Netflix’s new show, Tiger King? It’s become so popular that 30% of Morris-Jenkins employees surveyed watch it, and more seem to be trying it every day!
Snacks
It can be hard to resist the temptation to snack during quarantine, especially if you work from home. After all, no matter if you work from your living room or a home office, your kitchen is never far away! What snacks have our employees been turning to?
Overwhelmingly, salty snacks won the contest, coming in at 48% of votes. Sweet snacks came in second at 33%. Chips and popcorn were two of the snacks we saw the most of in the results. We even saw some unique snacks, like cookie dough, pumpkin bread, pickles, and takis.
Despite the fact that it’s easy to turn to junk food as a comfort during times as crazy as these, ten percent of employees said they’ve stuck with healthy food. Two percent even reported resisting the urge to snack at all.

After It’s Over
Where do you plan on going when quarantine is over?
Most of our employees had their own unique answers about places that were special to them, but the most common answer we saw was Mexican restaurants! 27% of employees listed different restaurants as the top places they wanted to go. Another nine percent reported planning beach trips after this, and five percent can’t wait to visit the lanes to go bowling!
