Water Pressure for Hot Water Is Low
If the water pressure is low only when you’re trying to use your hot water, that’s a pretty clear sign that there’s something going on with your water heater. There could be several reasons for this, but most likely it’s just mineral build-up somewhere in your water heater.
Your Water Isn’t Warm Enough
If you’ve been used to scalding hot water and suddenly your water heater is sending you lukewarm water, you’ll know something’s wrong right away. Your heating element could be struggling either because it’s old or because it has mineral build-up, too.
You Have Rust-Colored or Smelly Water
The last thing you wanna see when you turn on the tap is a gush of orange water. When your water heater is getting older, it might start to corrode. The water in your tank will get rusty in color and taste. Sometimes the corrosion is too bad and we have to replace your water heater, but that’s not always the case. Bacteria in your tank can cause foul-smelling water, so that’s never something to ignore.
If your tanked water heater is leaking or your water is orange, you might not be able to do much without a plumber. But in other situations, there are a couple of things you can try to get it to start running again. You’ll wanna check your electrical panel for signs of a tripped breaker. You can also check the gas valve switch and the high-limit switch. If either gets bumped or tripped into the “OFF” position, they’ll shut your whole water heater down.
If none of those things fixes your water heater, you can call us for a water heater repair. We’ll check everything and repair what needs to be fixed.
