Did a plumber just tell you your home needs to be repiped? While this is never fun news to get, it doesn’t have to be scary or stressful. We’ve got answers to all your repiping questions!
What Does It Mean to Repipe Your House?
Just like anything else in your home, pipes wear down over time and need to be replaced. Repiping is also a great idea if you’re doing a lot of remodeling in your house (especially if you’re installing new appliances that need water hookups).

Repiping is when you replace the old pipes in your home with new ones. This can be done with your water supply lines or with your sewer lines.
When Should You Repipe Your House?
If you’ve been dealing with leaks, constant repairs, low water pressure, rust-colored water, noisy pipes, smelly water, swampy areas in your yard, or other nasty plumbing problems, it’s a good idea to get a professional plumber out to take a look. Any of these problems could be signs of pipe problems, and the best solution may be repiping.
Certain types of pipes are more prone to issues than others. Depending on the pipes in your home, you may wanna consider replacing them to prevent catastrophe, especially if you have lead pipes, polybutylene pipes, or galvanized steel pipes.
Do I Have to Be Home During the Whole Repipe?
You don’t have to be home the whole time we’re repiping your house, but there are a couple of points we’ll need you for. At the beginning, we’d like to take you on a walkthrough of your home to get an idea of the whole project. When we’re done, we’ll do a brief wrap-up to make sure you’re happy with our work and don’t have any questions. In between those points, feel free to come and go as you need!
Do I Need to Put My Pets Up When Repiping My House?
We love meeting your furry family members! You usually don’t need to put your pets up for a repiping job unless they aren’t friendly, if they’re anxious around unfamiliar people, or if they’re making our plumbers uncomfortable. In those cases, it might be a good idea to put them up. Otherwise, they’re totally fine out and about!
What if We Have More Questions?
We want everyone involved to have a chance to ask their questions. If you want a second visit (it’s free!), let us know!
When/Who Do I Pay?
If you choose an easy payment plan, everything is done in advance. If you decide to pay in full, your installation team won’t ask for payment until after the repiping is complete. We accept cash, card, or check—whatever is easiest for you!
What Do I Need to Do to Prepare for the Installation?
You don’t have to worry about a thing! We’ll take care of everything so this is as easy as possible for you. If you want to save some time, you can clean out all the cabinets in the bathrooms, kitchen, laundry room, and/or garage—anywhere we’ll be working. But it’s not required!
Do I Need to Have an Inspection?
Not all repipes require an inspection, but if yours does, we’ve got it covered! We’ll take care of getting the permits and scheduling the inspections.
What Kind of Repiping Options Are There?
Depending on what your home needs, you might have options on how we repipe it! Traditionally, we’d need to make holes in your walls/ceiling, drill up your floors, and/or dig a trench in your yard (this all depends on how much of your home we’re repiping and whether or not your home is on a slab). Now, in some cases, we have less destructive options of replacing your pipes!
Pipe Bursting

If you need your sewer lines replaced, we may be able to schedule a pipe bursting appointment for you, instead of a traditional repipe. Pipe bursting is when we dig two holes in your yard to reach your leaky pipe. We have equipment that we’ll send through your old pipe to break it up and simultaneously lay a new pipe right behind it. And the new pipe is totally seamless! This method protects your yard and your driveway, but it’s not always an option. If your pipes are in too bad of shape, this equipment won’t work.
Pipe Relining

If you have a drain/sewer pipe that’s starting to deteriorate but it’s not totally destroyed, we might be able to schedule you for a trenchless pipe lining! This is when we send a bladder through your pipes with a pipe lining around it (coated in epoxy) and inflate it. The pipe lining then sticks to the inside walls of your old pipe and basically turns your old pipes into new ones! This lining lasts about 50 years, so it’s a great option that protects your property and renews your pipes. But again, this is only an option in some cases.
How Do I Know Which Repiping Options I Have?
Before we give you all your repiping options, one of our experts will run a camera through your drain line to assess any damage. Once we’ve got a good idea of what we’re working with, we’ll let you know which repiping options you have for your home!
Let’s Make This Easy for You
From the time you call, text, or message us online, we’ll take care of everything! When you reach out to us, you’ll talk to a real local person. You’ll get an appointment time that works for your schedule. When one of our plumbers comes out to assess your pipes, they’ll give you the best options for your home and explain everything in a way that makes sense. Ultimately, the decision on what we do is up to you! Once you give us the OK, we’ll start work and take care of all the details.
Mr. Jenkins Told Me… You Get What You Pay For!
Like anything in your home, the equipment itself isn’t the most important part of your installation—it’s who installs it. Even the best pipes won’t serve your home well if they aren’t installed carefully. That’s where we come in! Our experts go through a lot of training and have tons of experience doing what they do. It’s their passion! When we go out on a repiping job, we treat it as if it’s our own home and our own family we’re taking care of, because that’s what you deserve.
