What to Expect During Your HVAC Installation

Are you considering installing a new heating and cooling system for your home?

Installing a new unit is a big deal.

You’ve been doing research, and every time you find an answer to one question, it seems like you discover three more things you wanna know. You’ve got questions, and you don’t want surprises. Don’t worry! We want you to know exactly what to expect so you feel comfortable and confident that you’re making the right choice.

Do I have to be here all day?

You’re a busy person. You don’t wanna be stuck in the house all day waiting on the install team—and you don’t have to be! It’s completely up to you. We just need you to be home at the beginning and end of the job. If you can’t be there at the beginning, we can coordinate with you so we have access to where we’re installing the equipment. At the end, we like to show you how to use any new devices, answer your questions, and show you what we did. Many of our customers prefer to stay home during the installation itself, but you’re welcome to do whatever is easiest for you! On average, installs take between 4-5 hours, but sometimes they can take longer. When your install team arrives, they’ll be sure to let you know everything you can expect for the day, as well as how long it’ll take.

Do I need to put my pets up?

We love pets! You don’t need to put your furry friends up unless you feel there’s a chance they might run away. Sometimes, having a team of installers in your home can make pets a bit nervous. Even if your pet likes new people, the installers will be in and out of your house frequently, and your furry friend might escape.

My spouse wasn’t home during the initial meeting with a Residential Specialist. What if we have more questions?

We want everyone involved to have a chance to ask their questions. If you want a second visit (it’s free!), let us know!

When/who do I pay?

If you choose an easy payment plan, everything is done in advance. If you decide to pay in full, your installation team won’t ask for payment until after the install is complete. We accept cash, check, or card payment—whichever is most convenient for you!

What do I need to do to prepare for the installation?

Our goal is to make this process easy for you. This is a big investment— you deserve a hassle-free experience!

Sometimes, crawlspaces have locked doors. Make sure you have the key available ahead of time so we can access your equipment. If possible, it would also help us if you could clear a path on your driveway for our installers to park their truck. The equipment is big and very heavy, so being able to park in the driveway can make a big difference for your install team.

We’d also really appreciate if you could have your Wi-Fi information handy for us! A lot of thermostats today use Wi-Fi, so it helps us set yours up if we have your information ready to go (especially if you won’t be home during your whole installation).

Do I need to have an inspection?

Installing an AC or furnace the RIGHT way is important for the life of your equipment and the safety of your family. That’s why, by law, every installation must be inspected. The good news is, we pay for the inspection and we’ll take care of scheduling for you!

Where is the equipment paperwork?

You can find your equipment papers with the equipment itself, inside a plastic sleeve. Keep the paperwork there! It’s needed for the inspection, and it allows our techs to properly diagnose or troubleshoot your unit in the future if anything ever goes wrong.

When can I expect the team at my house?

Unless you requested other arrangements, you can expect the install team to arrive between 8-9 a.m. on Tuesday-Sunday, or 9-10 a.m. on Monday. We’ll give you a call when they’re on their way!

Let’s Make This Easy for You

Have you ever seen a sign for free puppies?

Of course, those puppies aren’t really free.

You’ve been doing your research about the average price of a new unit. You’re prepared to find the company that fits that price tag. When other companies (or the internet) tell you a new system is a certain price, that price tag never includes everything that goes into the installation. Just like that puppy is gonna need shots, food, training, and spaying/neutering, installing your unit involves other elements.

An Install Perfect for YOUR Home

Surprises can be fun, but not surprise fees. The prices we give customers include everything, not just the equipment. When you schedule an appointment with one of our specialists, they’ll give you the best quote possible, with no surprises.

Every job is a little different, and all the details lead to the final price. Your quote will be custom for your home because we wanna focus on what’s important to you. We won’t add things you don’t need. If you have a child with allergies, we can discuss hypoallergenic options. No allergies? We won’t include that because you don’t need it. We want this to be the best possible option for your family. It seems complex, but we’ll handle every single one of those complexities. Our goal is to make it easy for you to get a new unit.

Don’t Worry… It’s Included

You’ll see a new system installed the right way, but you won’t see all that goes into it.

Installation, warranties, training, county inspections, electrical and mechanical permits, electrical work, and equipment are all just some of the elements of an installation.

We’d take care of everything so your family will be comfortable, and you wouldn’t have to worry about any additional fees or work.

Mr. Jenkins Told Me… You get what you pay for!

The most important part of your installation isn’t the equipment itself, but who installs it.

You can pick high-quality air conditioning and heating equipment, but if it isn’t installed properly, it’ll cause countless problems.

SEER rating, tonnage, capacity, BTUs… those mean nothing if the installation isn’t done right.

Cutting corners and careless errors on the installation can cause your brand-new system to run inefficiently or stop running altogether!

When that poorly installed unit malfunctions or breaks down, it’ll leave your family uncomfortable, and not to mention—it’ll cost a lot of time and money to fix.

Why sacrifice quality? An air conditioner or heater is an investment. You deserve to get the most out of your investment.

One thing we can assure you is, with Morris-Jenkins, there’s immense value behind your investment. It’s true: you get what you pay for.

We take pride in our installers, and they take pride in their work.

We pay attention to the details.

We do things the right way… not the easy way.
